The CCC Wool Bomber is an exact replica of the wool jackets issued by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The CCC was a 1930s New Deal initiative implemented by Franklin D. Roosevelt that combined his passion for our wildlands with the need for jobs during the depression era. The hard-working men of the CCC replanted forests, fought wildfires and provided aid during times of natural disasters.
The original CCC jacket was a variation of the flight jackets issued to Army Air Corps pilots. Rather than leather, it was made from wool for use in rainy and snowy woodlands, and was commonly known as the CCC Lumber Jacket. This historic jacket features a wool-blend rib-knit collar, cuffs and hem. Durable melamine-button front closure.
